For 21 years the constant search for new sensations and new stimuli has enabled us to continue developing the friendship and collaborative spirit that grew out of music and in particular our own music. Over the years we have enjoyed the company of many fellow-travelers on our adventures, all of whom have played an important part in our life. But the challenge of a live album is perhaps the most important step yet for us because it represents the fruit of several years hard work performed stripped down to its raw essence with no studio trickery but with all the merits and flaws of the group which ore perhaps made more evident by the unadulterated live sound sensation of Folk & Noble Jig. Joining the seven of us for the occasion are Elisa on flute along with the string orchestra who we wanted to baptize Folk and Noble Jig, since it is composed of professional classical musicians who offered their active support for a series of concerts in the Summer of 1998 where they shared the stage with us in many cities and at many festivals all over ltaly, and were perhaps infected with some of our folk spirit. On this album, along with several new pieces composed and arranged by Claudio we've included some old favorites which, reworked live with the orchestra, have we think acquired a new flavor.

It is difficult to reproduce all those sensations that you feel when you look at an Irish landscape, with its immense distances cradled by the sun and brushed by rainbows during those changeable summer days, when you hear the stories of scheming and indiscreet pixies and magic fairies, of life in the woodland, and of tricks and loves, innocent games and of all the characters that people the imaginary world of Celtic tradition and culture.
There are also stories - of the struggle for independence, which was denied for so long, of battles and wars, of suffering and victory - told in the famous Pubs and washed down by numerous pints of Guinness.
We have experienced all of this during our musical activities over the years and our concerts express all of this - it is Ireland, Scotland and Brittany, but it is above all our music, the fruit of our experience and the important contributions from others.

You will experience something here which is a little like a serenade, and which has allowed me to enter into the fairy story of this minstrel, these timeless troubadours, these bards from tne Po valley. They are dreamers, airy souls, fools without a master of a court. They are poets of sound, filtered out of the magic of the past and the mysteries of future. They are songsters for all seasons, and serenaders for all loves, restless nomads of the roads who amplify the silence of impossible desires and the sound of brief moments of happines. They are friends to suffering, like harmonies chained to melodic fantasies, and friends of words from far-off skies where white clouds are blown along together with the sweet smell of the sea. Here , you will have the chance, as i did, to experience something like a serenade, a tiniest part of the boundless expanses of this wonderful music.
